The Parliament House in New Delhi is where the Parliament of India convenes. It consists of two houses: the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha is the lower house, while the Rajya Sabha is the upper house in India’s bicameral parliament.

The Central Vista

As part of India’s Central Vista Redevelopment Project, a brand new parliament building was constructed in New Delhi. It was inaugurated on 28 May 2023 by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
This magnificent structure is located on Rafi Marg, which cuts through the Central Vista and is surrounded by several other important buildings including the Old Parliament House, Vijay Chowk, India Gate, National War Memorial, Vice President’s House, Hyderabad House, Secretariat Building, Prime Minister’s Office and residence, ministerial buildings, and other administrative units of the Indian government.

New Session

The New Parliament House was put to use for the first time for official business on 19 September 2023 during the Parliament Special Session. It was designated as the Parliament of India and quickly became the center of all political activities.
