Kanguva Review : Good Acting but Poor Story

Suriya is back in a lead role after two years and fans cannot stay calm. Directed by Siva, the film hit the theatres today (November 14) and has already minted over Rs 7.3 crore ahead of opening day.

Finally, the day has here. Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani play the main characters in the eagerly anticipated epic fantasy, which finally opened in theaters today (November 14). Since its announcement, the Siva-directed movie has generated a lot of buzz. Both 2D and 3D versions of Kanguva will be available for purchase. In addition to being Suriya’s first major part since the 2022 movie Etharkkum Thunindhavan, this film also marks Bobby Deol and Disha Patani’s debuts in Tamil cinema. One of the most expensive Tamil films ever made, it features a star-studded cast. Suriya, who leads the fantasy action drama, reportedly earned Rs 39 crore for his role, thanks to his strong box-office appeal. Bobby Deol, making his Tamil debut as the villain Udhiran, was paid Rs 5 crore, leveraging his popularity after Animal (2023). Disha Patani, also making her Tamil debut as Suriya’s love interest, earned Rs 3 crore. Director Siruthai Siva, who spent two years bringing the project to life, was paid Rs 5 crore for his efforts.
